It's been a good day--very little reflux! YEAH! Kemp came over and spent most of the day with his dad. He has permission from work to work from our house on Wednesdays so he can spend that time with Tom and I can go to the church and get lots done there.
Talked to Kirstin today and told her that the nurse on Tuesday had told us the medical team was just that--our team and we are the captain. Well, I think I am the captain and Tom is the general. Kirstin said, "No, mom, he's a Viking." So I asked her, what is a Viking general called. She immediately responded, Tom the Conqueror! Guess what the kids are getting their dad for Father's Day! Don't tell Tom! With a Viking "hat" and his fist a-pumping we'll all want to get out of his way!

Cathy & Tom - I have been so touched by reading through the entries in your blog. My heart has ached for you, I have laughed and cried my way through the entries. Cathy I have had such great respect for you from the first time I met you in "Cohort A" of Bethel Seminary's Master of Arts in Children's and Family Ministry. It was such a joy to share the journey of seminary with you as your profesor and friend! I treasure the memories of conversations over dinner and prayers and tears shared (my tears are liquid love and I seem to have a lot of love!). I felt like I was seeing transformation right before my very eyes as you moved through the program. God is so good and I am blessed to have shared the journey with you up to this point and I look forward to continued connections in the days ahead!
ReplyDeleteOne of the earlier entries said you would love to hear stories of Tom. I wanted to share my meeting with Tom at your graduation from Bethel Seminary. He was so obviously proud of you and the love between you was so clear to me. He smiled the whole weekend! He had visited with me several times and then before you left the campus he came to me at the graduate reception and said, "I want you to know that this program has not only changed Cathy - and I celebrate that! But our whole church has been impacted by the investment that has been made in Cathy's life! We are ALL thankful for Bethel Seminary!" What a gracious and kind thing to share with me as your Professor and Program Director. I sensed that Tom is a man who has gone "above and beyond" his whole life. A Viking indeed! I am praying that you continue to experience God's grace for the journey - whatever it holds - each step of the way!
Love and prayers -
Denise
